Trip to Oregon.

What a wonderful weekend! The kids and I set off with Grandma and Great-grandma on a road trip to Oregon this past Saturday. Everyone did fairly well on the trip down to Albany, Oregon; it was a pretty long car ride. We stopped for a picnic lunch at the Maryhill park before crossing the bridge into OR. Then when we got to Oregon City, we dropped Great-grandma off at my Uncle and Aunts house so she could catch up with them. About an hour before we got to Albany, Ken was screaming his guts out and Emma was repeating "Mommy I'm starving to death," so we made a dinner stop and then finally made it to our motel...... Whew! On Sunday we headed over to my friend Kristin's house in Corvallis, it was her daughter Mackenzi's 6th birthday. Emma and Mackenzi absolutely loved hanging out together! The birthday party was great. Then we hung out some more at the house, went to a park, ate dinner, and after a full day of events, we finally went back to the motel for some sleep. After breakfast the next morning, we drove back to Oregon City and picked Great-grandma up; we stayed at Uncle Jim and Aunt Vi's for a few hours and visited of coarse. Then back on the road. We ate lunch at Multnomah Falls and had an ice cream cone. We just got back this evening, the kids are both in bed, pretty worn out still; but they did much better on the way home. It was so nice to catch up with friends and family, I hope we get to do it again sometime soon, road trips are great! Enjoy the pictures!

It finally feels like spring!

The last few days here have been just beautiful! Weather in the 60-70's with just a light breeze in the evening. I have been busy in my garden and am almost done, hopefully we will have lots of fresh veggies this summer. Emma enjoys helping me in the garden, but poor Ken is not having a very good time being stuck in his stroller for any extended period of time. He likes to be mobile! Wayne has been busy with his new project, two lambs that he intends to fatten up over the summer. The kids have also started swimming lessons and they both just LOVE it! Ken's class is a parent/child, so I go in the pool and hold him. Emma goes by herself in the shallow childrens pool. It's gearing up to be a busy summer for us; 2 weddings to go to, a two day trip to Oregon to visit a friend of mine and her daughter and Wayne is flying back to Australia for a quick trip to visit his folks who seem to be deteriorating in health. So sometime in my busy summer schedule I will try to keep this updated with new blogs and photos!

Just a short note and some new pictures.

Don't really have much to blog about today, just wanted to post some more picutes. I posted a video the other day and hope you will or have watched it, it's pretty cute. My kids are pretty funny! We are all doing fine. Wayne and I had like six days off in a row together and had all these plans to get a bunch of yard work done. Needless to say we only got a couple nice days out of the deal and the rest were rainy, chilly, windy or all of the above. Oh well, maybe next time. Ken is walking while holding on to a toy now and waving bye bye. He is 10 months old now, however I just gave away all his 9 month clothes and he is wearing his 12 month clothes now! I think he will start to slow down his growth now, hopefully....... or I may go broke buying clothes for him.... HaHa, just kidding! Anyway, enjoy the pictures and video. Jacki

Having a great spring......... Wow summer is almost here!

The kids and I at the zoo.

Wow, it's May already!! We have been trying to get work done out in the yard and on the property, but the weather has not always cooperated with us. We got our chicken coop completed last month and the chickens are making themselves right at home, 15 of them to be exact. They are getting fairly friendly, Emma can bend down and touch them, which she is thrilled about. They follow us around the yard. We are hoping to get some kind of irrigation to the place this spring. I've started working on a garden space and will post some pictures of that when I get it completed. Emma went to the Drs office last week for her 4 year old checkup. She is healthy ofcoarse, but is on the small side, however this is normal for her considering the size of her parents;) She is developmentally very smart and can do most things that 6 year olds can do. Ken is doing very well also. I thought Emma was a handful, but this little guy is just a swirling vortex of energy!! He walks holding on now and no doubt will be walking on his own soon......... or more like running. Work is going well for Wayne and I. Wayne is now looking into getting some sheep to raise. Quite the little Foley Farm we have going on here now. My mom and I took the kids up to Bellevue to have pictures taken last month and we went to the Woodland Park zoo afterwards. It was lots of fun. Emma, my mom and I enjoyed the animals and Ken liked being pushed around in the stroller; he still is at that age where he dosent see much unless it's right in front of him or moving and making a lot of noise. Hope everyone has a wonderful spring, summer is fast approaching!

Happy Easter 2009.

I hope everyone had a great Easter. We had a nice, quiet day at home with some of our family. My mom and grandma stayed the night on Saturday and my mom fixed our Easter dinner/lunch on Sunday. Emma had a great time keeping grandma and great-grandma entertained. When we awoke on Easter morning Emma and Ken opened their easter baskets; Ken was like "yeah whatever," then enjoyed watching Emma go through her basket. Then it was time for the Easter egg hunt. Just a little hunt in the backyard for Emma, we went to the Ellensburg Kiwanas Easter egg hunt Friday evening, it was pretty nice (of note for you dog lovers, before the kids egg hunt they had a doggie bone hunt for people who wanted to bring their dogs out too). So Emma is out hunting for her eggs and stops in the middle of the yard and says "mommy, when did the Easter bunny come and lay all these eggs out here?" Ummm, I told her he came early that morning, but I don't think that bunnies lay eggs, he probably just had the eggs in a basket and dropped them out onto the lawn. Hahaha! My mom cooked a great prime rib dinner, it was delicious! We had a great time with our family; my Aunt Betty and Uncle Evert came over too. In case you need another laugh, here are some more quips from my little Emma. Emma to Uncle Evert; "Uncle Evert, did you know that you have hair in your nose?" Emma to Great-grandma; "Here is a present for you, don't open it until you get home because it's a surprise. It's a piece of candy, but you'll forget that by the time you get home." We all had a good Easter. My husband Wayne spent most of the day outside trying to finish our chicken coop. Bad news; still not done yet. Good news; it's almost done and the chickens get to live in there now instead of the small cage that they were in. They seem happier to have some space to peck around in. Hopefully by this fall they will start to lay eggs!

All tuckered out from the festivities.

Really mom. Do I have to wear these things?

Look at the pretty eggs I found.
