Emma's 4th birthday.

Well, I'm still catching up on rest after the EVENT that was "Emma's 4th birthday party." The party was on Saturday, but the night before, my good friend Kristin and her 5 yo daughter came and had a sleepover with us. Emma and Kristin's daughter Mackenzi had a great time playing and staying up late talking and giggling. The next day, was Emma's Snow White birthday party. There were around 8 girls ranging in age from 3-10yrs. There is a place out of Yakima that you can rent a cartoon character to come to your birthday party, so of coarse Snow White came to our party. She stayed for 1 hour and played parachute games with the girls, did their make up, made balloon magic wands and played hide and seek with the girls. All the girls were thoroughly entertained the entire time. It was so cool. The girl who came as Snow White did such a wonderful job with the girls and they all seemed to love it, especially Emma. After Snow left, we ate some snacks and had cake ( a Snow White cake of coarse). Then Emma opened her gifts and the girls played awhile and then everyone left. And then momma had the huge task of cleaning the house up!! Atleast Emma and Ken were pretty wiped out from the party and went to bed early so I was able to get things done. It was such a great day and I hope you enjoy the pics.

New pics and blog

Emma 3.5 yrs old

Ken, 9 months old

Playing with his toy train

Kids being silly together

So, I just downloaded some new pictures today; so I thought I would blog again and post the new pics. Ken is getting better and better at standing up holding on now, except when Emma comes by and knocks him over. That girl amazes me everyday with her ever expanding vocabulary. The latest new words that I have heard her say; phenomenon, divine, chiminey. She used them appropriately in a sentence and she was also able to give me the meanings of the words. She called Ken a "phenomenon" the other day, so I asked her what that word meant and she replied "it means a strange thing." When I got Ken dressed and ready to go out I asked Emma if his outfit looked ok; "he looks just divine," she said. And chiminey "is something on top of a house, I saw that on Mary Poppins." Ken is ever patient with her, but understandably gets a little frustrated with her when she won't let him play with anything. She tends to hover like a mother hen over him. I keep telling her to be nice to him because he will be bigger and stronger than you soon. Hope you like the new pics!! Jacki.

First blog

So, a girl at work has a blog spot and I was looking it over thinking; wow, instead of sending out emails to everyone all the time, I could just email everyone my blogspot once and they could check it out every once and awhile to stay caught up with our family. I will see how this works out, but it seems pretty cool, I hope you all like it too. I will try to post blogs atleast once or twice a month.

Here it goes. So you all know us, the Foley's (Wayne, Jacki, Emma and Ken). We live in Kittitas, WA. We have some pets, Daisy the goofy black lab, Spot the ever annoying goat, Lucky the handsome rabbit and soon to be some chickens too. We are currently working on getting their coop built, then they can come home and roost, LOL. Wayne and I are both RN's, as most of you know. We both work at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital in Ellensburg, I work part time in the Labor and delivery unit and Wayne works full time in the ICU.

Emma will be 4 years old on April 13th. She is a very sweet child most of the time, but has a flare for the dramatics also. She got herself dressed the other morning (god help me if I try to pick her clothes out for her anymore) and she comes out with a blue and yellow flower print dress on, but since it's still cold out side she put pants on also, pants with black and pink butterflies on them, snow white socks and blue jelly shoes. OMG, she looked hilarious and as I was trying to keep a straight face she says to me "mommy, don't I look GORGEOUS!" She loves princess and barbie things, but is not afraid to get dirty either, she loves to go outside and dig in mommy's flower beds.
Little Ken, or KB for short is almost 9 months old now, his birthday is July 8th. He is very much the opposite of his big sister. They do both have those long gorgeous eyelashes, but the similarities pretty much end there. Ken is way more active a child than Emma was, he is into everything (except the things that you try to give him to play with). He's is doing a lot of baby babbles and starting to say dada and mama. The child loves to crawl and must do a few miles a day around the house. Emma knocked the garbage bag over the other day and from across the room Ken saw the trash go spilling out on the kitchen floor and man oh man, he must have clocked 20 miles an hour trying to get into that garbage on the floor. It was quite a sight, crawling like gangbusters with a 4 inch teething rusk hanging out of his mouth like a big ol stogie, the three of us were cracking up laughing, all the while frantically trying to get the garbage back into the bag before he got to it. He has also recently started to master the art of standing while holding on. So that is us in a nutshell. I will keep this posted frequently and add new pictures too.
