Welcoming 2011

Wow, it's already into February!! Just a little update with some new pictures of the kids. Emma is still just loving school. Ken is still loving that he gets all the attention while she's gone to school:) I went to my first ever parent-teacher conference in December; Emma's teacher loves her and thinks that she's very smart. She's starting to read pretty good now and likes to read Ken a bedtime story at night. Ken is quite a little talker now and still very active. He's pretty much non-stop from wake up to bedtime. These first pictures are the kids playing with finger paints. They learned what the primary colors were and used them to make other colors.
They enjoyed getting their hands all dirty.
Look mom, I made purple.
He did such a good job of keeping his hands on the paper and not touching everything else.
Having fun with green.
He liked the way the paint felt on his hands.
Orange hand prints.
Painting with his finger.
Fun with black and white and a touch of color.
My big boy.

The kids having a fun day at the Children's activity museum in Ellensburg.

Cowboy buck and Elizabeth came to Emma's school for an assembly. The kids got to dress up in their western attire and learn about the cowboy code.

Emma attended the mini cheer clinic at her school. The highschool cheerleaders taught the little girls some cheers, then that evening at the varsity girls basketball game, the mini cheerleaders got to go out and cheer with the big cheerleaders. Emma LOVED it!! She had such a great time.

My little Ken, very proud of his brand new Thomas the Train pj's.
Sweet, funny little guy.

The kids put on a little fashion show for me one night before I had to go to work. They are just the best kids ever; I am really enjoying them so much.

End of 2010 pictures.

Just some more pictures from Christmas time. This first one is Emma at her school's Christmas program. She's the one in the black dress with the pink bow in the first row.

The kids and I enjoying our new train set. I let them open it on Christmas eve and we put it around the tree for Christmas.

Wintertime 2010

Winter is in full swing here! The kids continue to stay active and keep us busy. Here are some new pictures.
The annual Gingerbread house decorating at Teri Harwood's. Ken got to join in the fun this year too. I decorated most of his little house, he kept busy by eating a ton of candy:) Emma, as usual, wanted NO help. She did a great job as you can see from the picture.

The kids each have a little 3 foot tree in each of their rooms decorated with their ornaments. Emma's tree is pink of coarse.

And this is Ken's little tree. He doesn't have quite as many ornaments as Emma yet, but he's getting there.
The kids posing with grandma Marilyn.
Ken and Emma dressed up in their Christmas outfits.

Happy Halloween 2010.

Just some more fall/Halloween pictures. Winter is approaching fast and it is getting cooooold!

Emma in her Kindergarten classroom. I went and helped out for their Halloween party. The kids had a lot of fun.

Emma and Ken scooping out their pumpkins. Hard little workers they were. Mommy still had to do all the carving tho. Ken was so funny. Instead of calling them pumpkin seeds, he called them "nuts" and when he accidently missed the bowl and scooped some out onto the floor he started yelling, "oh no, my nuts, my nuts!" Hilarious.

The end results. Mine was fall leaves, Emma's a cat and Ken's a dog.

Just Ken making a silly face.
Oooo, spooky.
Emma dressed up as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz (one of her favorite movies) for Halloween.
And Ken was the Scarecrow.
We did the Ellensburg downtown trick or treat again this year. And then went to "Haunted Halls" at the Kittitas High school. It was great. The highschoolers do such a great job decorating and they gave the kids lots of candy. Poor Ken couldn't even hold his basket up by the time we got home.

Fall Festivities.

Having such a busy fall, wanted to post some new pictures and videos.
Here is Emma in her silly hat. She went to a friend's birthday party where the theme was "a mad hatter's tea party." It was a really cute party and Emma and the other kids had a lot of fun.
Ken is doing great. He is such a "boy." Very rough and tumble, like to climb on everything and is not scared of a thing. He continues to amaze me with his funny and infectious personality.
I've had the kids out for many fall activities. Here are some pictures from the straw maze out by Quincy. The weather was a bit drizzly, but we had fun anyways. The kids played games.

And splashed in the mud puddles.

Then we made our way through the straw maze.

And picked out the perfect pumpkins in the pumpkin patch.
Grandma Marilyn helped Ken with his.
Then the kids painted their pumpkins, here is Emma with her pretty pumpkin face.

Ken just kindof mixed all the paints together then gave me a big proud smile and said "Look momma, I made dirty!"

Just yesterday we went to a straw maze/ produce stand in Zillah, Washington. The weather was much more cooperative for this outing.

This place had a big straw pyramid with a slide built in it. Emma and Ken had a blast climbing up there and sliding down.
Then we picked out some more pumpkins and also some butternut squash, apples and melons.
