Easter 2011

Happy Easter 2011! Here are the kids and I goofing around before the easter egg hunt on Saturday at the elementary school here in Kittitas.

It was a beautiful day, sunny and no wind! Unusual for here in the Spring time! Haha.
The kids got to get their faces painted before we started the egg hunt. Emma got a big red heart on her cheek.
Ken got a soccer ball on his cheek.
Some nice lady offered to take a picture of the 3 of us together. It turned out nice!
The kids showing off their loot!
Then on Sunday morning, the kids woke up to their Easter baskets full of goodies that the Easter bunny had left for them. And then had an Easter egg hunt in our backyard.
Look mom, I found one!
Out on the hunt for eggs again.
Emma snatched this one up as Ken was heading for it,,,, he wasn't too happy about that!
But they both got plenty of eggs!

Emma's 6th birthday. April 13th, 2011

My sweet little Emma celebrated her 6th birthday on April 13th. She had a small party at home on her birthday, which was a school night. Grandma came over and Emma opened her presents, then we had cupcakes and ice cream.
Emma opening presents. The hat is one that she got to wear at school all day because it was her special day.

Opening a present from mommy. A sea turtle night light that she had specifically asked for. It shines stars on the ceiling in the dark. Ken had also really wanted one of these and since I knew he'd have a fit if sister got one and he didn't, he got one too:)
Yes, for all those who know Emma well, her turtle was "pink!"

Then that weekend me, my mom, Ken and Emma went to Seattle for 2 days. We stopped first at North Bend and did some outlet shopping.
Here's Ken looking snazzy in his new pirate hat.
And Emma in her new fairy shirt.
The first day, we went to the Seattle Center. Here is the Seattle space needle.
Stolling around Seattle Center.
We visited the Pacific Science Center. They had an awesome bug exhibit there. Ken loved it, Emma was a little scared of all the creepy crawlies:)
Also there, was a great butterfly exhibit. The kids both loved this one.
Then we had lunch and headed down to the Children's museum.
Day #2, we went to the Woodland Park Zoo. We all had a fabulous time there!

Mommy and the kids. We were all tuckered out by the end of the day and after the long drive back over the mountains, it was good to be home.

Coming into Spring!

Welcome spring!! The weather has started to warm up now and the snow is all gone. Of coarse it's windy a lot now, but we get a few days of nice calm weather. Emma continues to do well in school and Ken is still growing like a weed:)
He also continues to be quite a little comedian. He had his 1 year check up following his Kawasaki's Disease last year. We saw a pediatric cardiologist at Seattle Children's Hospital. She said Ken's heart murmur that he continues to have is a normal sounding one and doesn't appear to show any signs of being dangerous. His echocardiogram was great! Although the measurement of his left coronary artery is still the same (it was enlarged due to the Kawasaki's) Ken has grown; and so the artery is now less enlarged and may be normal size as compared to his size by next year. If that's the case and he continues to be healthy and have a healthy heart, he may get to stop taking Aspirin by next year!! Way to go Ken:)!
He's a little goof ball most days.

Ahhhhh, chocolate pudding face!
